Materials

Main materials we use are Toray T700, T800 or T1000 which will make ultra-light bicycle parts.
Sometimes we also adding resin to carbon fibre turns the material into a composite.
The goal with such a composite is to use as little resin as possible in order to hold the carbon fibre in place.

Cutting Carbon Fiber

Pre-preg carbon fibre arrives at frame factories in huge rolls of flat sheet, which needs to be cut into smaller pieces before it can be laid into a mould.
It starts from unidirectional prepreg sheets, which are CNC-cut at angles of 0, 18, 22, 30, 45, and 90 degrees.
These angles are in reference to the orientation of the fibres, and so for example, 0-degree would see the fibers running along the tubes.

Pre-Forming

Pre-forming is to lay the cut carbon fiber pre-preg on the core material in a specific sequence and angle to make it have the shape of the frame and wait for the next step to solidify.
The rolls operation of our factory is finished in a closed dust-free workshop, which has strict environmental requirements.

Moulding

Moulding is to wrap carbon fibre around a solid mandrel and resin is applied during the wrapping process.
Then the entire assembly is cured under heat and pressure in forming mold.
To ensure the mold and the frame have the same thermal expansion rate, which plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy of the frame.

Bonding

For the parts that cannot be integrally formed like seatstays and chainstays, they will be bonded with front triangle by special glue.
Then it is fixed into a complete whole by high-temperature baking.
The bonded frame will be fixed on a special carbon fiber fixture and place into a curing oven for curing after that.
The frame can be taken out of the curing oven and removed from the fixture when the curing process is completed.

Quality control and Testing

While some industry standards do exist in this area, such as CEN and ISO certifications, but what we and most other major brands do testing could be considered the most common practices.
Our company have all the test equipments for frame, fork, seatpost and other accessories.
We will take 2-3pcs samples to test from each batch before mass production.
